A Simple Welcome

Hello World, and welcome to the Simply 7 Snacks blog…it’s Simply Delicious!

As we come to the end of 2010, we are getting excited about finally having finished product ready to go and starting to actually sell our chips!  Over the last 6+ months of developing our products, we’ve made a lot of friends in the industry, learned a ton, and seen our Simple idea grow into something very real (and very tasty!).  As much as the past has been a whirlwind of activity (constantly trying to meet deadlines and making adjustments on the fly), the next 6 months should be even more of an adventure.  We’ll finally introduce our chips to the world!  It’s very exciting (and quite a bit scary) to see what people think outside the walls of our little company and beyond the (admittedly biased) taste buds of Rashim and I.
One thing we’ve come to quickly realize is that people are very interested in what “making chips” really means.  Over the holidays, while meeting new people at parties or catching up with friends, the inevitable question comes up: “What are you doing these days?”  My answer: “Making chips.”  9 times out of 10, the person who posed the question tries forge a connection with that answer by making some comment about computers or iPods or some other electronic component.  It’s the clarification that “we make potato chips,” that starts the questions flowing.  Everything from “where can I buy them?” to “how do you make different flavors?”  That’s what this blog is for: to answer those questions, to shed some light on the process of bringing a chip to a grocery store shelf, and to update you on the major milestones of our young company and the many smaller decisions we make all the time.
If you’d like to learn more about us, our company, and our products, visit us at our website (www.simply7snacks.com), find us on Facebook (search for Simply 7 Snacks), or follow us on Twitter (@simply7snacks).  We’d love to hear from you, so please keep the conversation going!
